A+ Education Foundation - official site

Founded in 1991, the A+ Education Foundation is a non-profit, non-partisan organization that advances policies, programs and initiatives in Alabama's K-12 education system that result in high achievement by every child.  To accomplish this, A+ works with the Governor, the State Board of Education, the State Department of Education and individual schools and school districts.  A+ provides information on school improvement to educators, the media, community-based groups and the business community through a variety of publications and forums.  A+ is located in Montgomery.

They believe that "good teaching matters most" and have worked tirelessly towards that motto by creating the Best Practices Center, the Alabama Reading Initiative, and many other groundbreaking successes in public education.

The Foundation in coordination with the Peabody Center for Education Policy has written a Primer on Alabama Education Policy.  Anyone who wishes to know more about Alabama Education Policy should download a copy of the Primer and take the time to read it.  Essential reading.

A+ publishes an e-newsletter full of information about what is happening in our State in the education arena.  A complete list and dialogue of newsletters is available.
