Welcome!
The Hoover School Community
Information Network (HSCIN) was formed in August 2006 by a coalition of
representative advisors from across the Hoover School District.
HSCIN hopes to use this website and additional forums to inform and
engage the Hoover community in discussions about our school district and
school reform in an effort to maintain excellence in our public school
system.

This site is devoted to
fact- and research-based information to make certain that Hoover
residents are informed with the same information that
decision-makers in our system use to make decisions regarding Hoover's
children's education.
It is our belief that
parents are the biggest group of stakeholders in this public school
system yet have no formal path for input when
decisions are made by our School Board and School Administrators.
It is our hope that by informing our community, parents and
community members will be better able to come to the table to work
with our school officials in making the decisions that face our
school community.
We want and need your input.
Please suggest content for this site. You can e-mail us with your
suggestions at Suggestions@hscin.org.
Mission
Statement
In order to promote full
engagement of our community in our public education system, we will
inform citizens about the policies and decisions made and being
considered by Board of Education members, school administrators,
parents, faculty members, government, and the community in an effort to
encourage citizens to engage in deliberate and educated discussion and
participate in decision-making in our Hoover City Schools to focus
efforts on student achievement and equity and maintain excellence in our
public school system.
How This
Site Is Organized
The "hottest topics" will
have their own space on the menu bar on the left. Click on the
text to access those pages.
Other information is
organized by who has responsibility for that area. For instance,
to find Board of Education member information, click on "Hoover City
Schools District" as the Board of Education is a part of the District.
For State Board of Education member information, click on "State
Information".
